Hi everyone,
I had to take the gas tank off my 77 550K in order to put on a new throttle cable. The problem is that I screwed up and didn't take note of how the fuel line was routed. Now, this is NOT the fuel line that connects to the petcock. This is the one that is on the underside of the tank, near the front area where the tank sits on those rubber bungs that stick off the frame , and routes to the back of the bike, I'm guessing as some sort of breather hose or overflow or something.
I routed it to where I think it's supposed to end up, which is by the little fuel lines connected to the carbs. They all end basically at the swingarm pivot. But the hose sits on top of the motor, which to me just doesn't seem right. I would think it would heat the hose and melt a hole in it.
Can anyone tell me exactly what that line is, how it's supposed to be routed and where it's supposed to end up? I didn't do a search because, although I'm calling it a fuel line, I'm guessing that's not the technical name for it so I don't really know what to search for.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
