Requesting a second set of eyes on these Carb Jet Settings
« on: October 13, 2015, 08:10:34 AM »
Brought a 1975 CB750 back to life with various parts I had laying around the shop. Understandably it isn't running right due to the addition of POD filters and a 4 into 2 exhaust. I know Pods suck and all but this is a bike I just threw together. Lets try and make it work!

Bike: 1975 CB750
Carbs: 657B
Stock Main: 105
Stock Slow: 40
Exhaust: 4 into 2
Intake: Generic Pod filters

Reference:

Main Jets:
+2 for four into 2 exhaust
+4 main fuel jet sizes for individual pod filters (no airbox)
= 6 - 2  (Add up all the main fuel jet size increases and subtract 2 sizes)

Main Jet = +4

Slow Jets:
+ 1 (Increase the pilot fuel jet size +1 for every +3 main fuel jet size increases)

Slow Jet = +1

So based on this, here are my new jet settings

Main: 115
Slow: 40

This look right to you guys?

Hello,

This is my setup and it works well for my bike:

Bike: 1978 CB750K
Carbs: 657B
Stock Main: 125
Stock Slow: 40
Needles: Bottom position
Mix Screws: Varied
Carbs Vacuum Sync'd
Exhaust: 4 into 1
Intake: UNI Pods, well oiled

Ignition: PowerArc CycleX, only brown wire grounded.

I also use Lucas Oil Octane Booster along with premium gas.

I am going up to 130's on the mains because I am getting some sputter at WOT. All plugs are tan.

Good luck.

Chris
