CB750 K7 Carbs questions

Hi everybody

This is my first on this forum and I glad to be here.
I bought a non running CB750 K7 (1977).
I started working on the carbs and disassembled and cleaned everything.
I started searching for replacements for the small rubber hoses that
link them together but, could not find info for those.

Also, while cleaning one on carb, I tore one of the
felt gasket sealing the throttle shaft linkage.
I saw that some guys in here replaces them with o-ring
but, there in no info about how it went after the
install. Does anyone here have experience with my problems?

Be aware, of the two sets of rubber hoses that connect the carbs, one rubber hose is the fuel feed bowl vent crossover from the connection to the fuel tank vent hose at the number two carb, and the other rubber connecting hose is the crossover for the accelerator pump (also originating at the #2 carb). These crossover hoses for the accelerator pump have little brass restrictors inside, so if you replace those hoses be sure to retrieve the little restrictors from the old hoses since these are not available from any source, but you can make your own from the right size tubing.

It's a lot easier to salvage the original ones though!

Thanks for that, I just saw it. I guess I will only replace
the vent hoses. They were the ones that needed more
care anyway.

Duh-Oh! I misspoke before, forgetting that the carbs fuel feed crossovers are aluminum, while the two sets of rubber hoses are for the vent and the accelerator pump. Since you've gone this far, you might as well replace all the rubber hoses too. For the rubber crossover tubes (which are NLA), I just use bulk hose (from Honda) cut to length. As mentioned previously, remove the brass restrictors from the accel pump crossover tubes and insert them into the new tubes. Reach out to member harisuluv and he should be able to tell you what size tubing is required for the crossovers (since I can't remember what I used off the top of my head).

You could also measure the connecting nipples to determine the required size...

According to the parts fiche, the vent tube is 4.5mm I.D. and 6mm O.D.

Still looking for dimensional data for the accel pump crossover tubes...

The accel pump barbs OD is 4.92mm, and the OD of the accel pump tube brass inserts is 4.0mm (x 2.0mm ID)
Its a perfect fit.
