Okay, help me out here, are the awards you refer to related to the $100 for each of the 3 categories to include quickest mph, lowest ET and best reaction time?? Umm, so the pot is $600 short but you propose to payout rewards of $300 on Sunday??

I have not said a lot here about the award(s) program, and I am very thankful for everyone involved in promoting this to help bring in more racers.

Bill you do not need to put in more of your money, you have done enough and Thank you. In my opinion a prize of $1000 to a winner is more than enough to entice participation, making the pot 2K, 3K or what ever will have little to no effect on actually drawing more racers.

Early on during this idea, I suggested providing some money for Best light, quick ET, top MPH, etc. I feel that these awards will actually do more to help draw racers, giving them a feeling that they may leave with something.

I will now expand on this entire idea with the thought that instead of trying to up the "win" money, that you use some of the "prize" money to "Give Back" to each racer in the form of a "Cash Back" for their entry fee's, basically paying their entry. This alone could possibly have a greater effect to draw racers, new and old.

So the way I read it is:

>$150 to test and tune on Thursday, for those that really need the extra practice.
>$75 for test and tune on Friday. Qualifying is also run on Friday.
>$50 to race Street E.T. on Saturday. If you lose in the 1st round you can buy back for second round for an additional $25.
>$50 to race Street E.T. on Sunday. If you lose in the 1st round you can buy back for second round for an additional $25.

>So if you run all four days sticking to Street E.T., and have to buy back for 2nd round both Sat and Sun then the most it would cost would be $375.
>If you skip Thursday, and have to buy back for 2nd round both Sat and Sun then you're looking at $225 (still talking Street E.T.)
>And finally, test, tune, and qualify on Friday, win your 1st round on Sat and Sun then you're down to $175 for three days of Street E.T.

From what I gather, qualifying for street E.T. is based on lowest reaction time and is used to pare the field down to 32 bikes (if necessary).

There's no pairing in street et until in the later round's. Therefore, we all need to be aware of where we line up in the lanes to avoid being paired with one another. Bill, Trey and I actually lined up head to tail in the first elimination round on the Saturday at the first Valdosta race. 2 out of 3 won their round. The other bike had clutch issues.

Best reaction time from the round before gets the bye in the current round.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the lanes. Should be a great weekend for us to fellowship.

Well, thanks all for the input. This event however is set. Still I think 2K is twice the enticement of 1K.

So the way it's set up now, a rider can win it all, one, two or all three awards each day. Cost so far is 2K for a event win, 100.00 x 3 each day = $600.00 plus 6 plaques @ $25.00 each =-$150.00. Then a bigger plaque for an event winner, @ $ 50.00. So $2800.00 could be paid out. I'm still contacting some people in the industry to help, but either way, it's going to happen. I see this part not changing. More funds raised then we can do as you suggested or other awards. Thanks and see you in Valdosta, Bill. C'mon guys, this is going to be big fun and streamed live, all can watch......time to put on a show!

"Pare" not "pair"

From Webster's dictionary:

pared par·ing

Full Definition of PARE

transitive verb

1: to trim off an outside, excess, or irregular part of <pare apples> <paring his nails>

The general regulations gave me the impression that reaction times might be used to reduce (or "pare down") the field to 32 bikes.

Re-reading it sounds like eliminations will be run until the field is reduced to 32 bikes ("all run")?

"Qualifying based on reaction time" is the part that doesn't fit. If this is truly an "all run" field, then "qualifying" should be only to establish an E.T. at or below 18.99. The "reaction time" qualifier makes me think that the field could be reduced up front based solely on reaction times...

Or does this reaction time qualifier merely require the driver to "cut a clean light" (green) and meet the 18.99 max E.T. requirement? So, if during qualifying, the driver pulled all red lights then he could potentially be disqualified up front? If this is the case, then Bill needs to be more careful!

All ET classes are "all run" fields. Once the class has eliminated to a certain point, the remaining bikes are then "paired" throughout the rest of the race. Only index and heads up classes are paired from round one based on their qualifying spot during the 3 qualifying runs. They place you on a ladder and further round paring follows this ladder until the end.

Ahhhhh.... so it's "random pairing" until the field is "pared" to 32 bikes, then the remaining bikes are "paired" based on their reaction time in qualifying.

If I understand correctly, the second round of Street E.T. will run the same as the first round. If there are more than 32 entries, then pairing is random (however the bikes line up in the staging lanes), or if there are 32 or fewer bikes, then pairings will be per reaction times from qualifying, regardless of whether the rider won the first round or had to buy back. The buy back makes no difference in pairings, there are just no first round points awarded to the rider that has to buy back for round two. As far as I know there is only one buy back permitted.
