Hi toall, Building a Patina CB750 K1 from the Netherlands
« on: October 14, 2015, 04:05:48 AM »
Goodday yall,

My Name is Chris I am from the Netherlands and recently aquired a Honda CB750 K1 barnfind as it may be called.

My plan is to read a lot about it, and only unstuck the engine, and to prevent any issues possibly mount new chains and tensioners all round.
the engine wich has 25K Kilometres has not been running for 40 years, and is stuck as granite block.

Hope to be able to learn a lot.

My previous bikes have been lots of old hondas, also I am restoring an old Harley Prewar.

Ciao!

Thanks for your replies!!

Prewar harleys are 2 RL 45cui bikes, one 1935 completely done, as pictured and one 1932 complete but building on it.

I am really in a discussion with my mates, and myself, i want to leave it like this and only make the engine a strong runner.
But i am now thinking towards, ONLY powedercoating the frame and swingarm, and covering it in (thin layer of underbodycoating and dust again to give it the patina again)
so that if in a couple of years i really cannot leave it alone anymore, i can progress real quickly with the restauration, and it stops the rust offcourse!
