I posted earlier but forgot to mention my wife's cars.  She had one of the first Honda cars, the N600, and sold it still running in like 1981 something.  Then she had a Civic (in Honda Brown), sold that for a Toyota full-size bed 4-banger pickup (for the band), sent that to the nieces and nephews, and then a 62 Ford Falcon.  That was a great damned car.  After that it's all modern . . .

Yep.

I also have a Mighty Max Macrocab I'm finally gonna drop the engine back in this weekend.

Hopes are to have it back on the road by Thanksgiving, so I'll have a heater for winter time.

I'd pass this off as mine, but...

Actually, that was a loaner one of my colleagues got while his Panamera was in the shop, so we took it over lunch one day.   ;D

This one's mine (the dark gray hatch):

Lots of fun to haul around in and it takes my bikes, kayak, whatever.

When I finally get my SOHC finished up, I'm thinking of starting a project car to do with my boys (I have three young sons) as a father-son car.  I'd love to do a 2002, or a Datsun 510, although I have to admit I've been eyeballing Factory Five's for a long time.  I love the Daytona Coupe!

Some car porn/inspiration (definitely not mine):

1975 CB750 K5
2007 Triumph Tiger
2007 Triumph Speed Triple
1971 Kawasaki F7 175 Enduro
2000 Honda VFR800 (gone but not forgotten)

1964 Plymouth Valiant "Signet" convertible, 225, six in a row makes it go, converted to auto after the 3 on the tree took a dump 18 years ago. Daily driver.

Sold my 1960 Chevy Apache (235 stovebolt 6, longbed fleetside, 4 speed (granny gear)) last winter and am regretting it but looking for something new.

In AZ these were fine choices for year-round rides, but here in Boston my wife is begging me to get something more oriented to the climate. Sold the truck, can't let go of the Valiant. I'll likely stick to borrowing her car all winter again!

A swapped 510 would be such a fun little car.

Right?!  The only tough thing would be trying to decide whether to stay NA (KA24) or go for the full SR20DET swap.

I drive a Tacoma for commuting to work and hauling bikes....

My dad is getting the 2016 in Red... manual 5 spd 4 cyl 4WD. I convinced him  to get the Tacoma. Good trucks. It is the truck I would get if I was to buy a truck tomorrow.

For now, though...

2 door Toyota Yaris. Small, inexpensive car. Going to be getting a 2015 (or newer) Honda Fit in 6 speed manual next year. Zip zip zoom!

This is my 3rd Tacoma. The first was a 4 cyl manual, 2WD.  I would not recommend it, it was a real dog!  I bought it at a time when gas was approxing $4/gal, want to save on gas [I drive a lot for work].
I only kept it for about 2 years and traded it in on the V6 and never looked back.

You will notice a marked improvement in the Fit over the Yaris especially in the clutch and the handling.  They're great cars.

If it's going to be a project, make it a PROJECT!  I'd start with a 510, but forget about a Japanese drivetrain.  Do a 1-piece tilt front end, and put in something like a Ford 302 and manual trans.  Carbed would probably be a LOT easier to hook up, avoiding all the mess of EFI and the corresponding electronics and sensors.  Should be lots of donor vehicles out there with a 302 and manual trans, like trucks.

Yes plus the colour we want is in the non-basic model, so the steering is upgraded. I like me a hot hatch. Might even invest in a performance mod or two!
