Yes but RC Golden rods have no bushing....gotta take even more meat out for bushing!

It appears that the MTC rods might have a little more meat on the pin end compared to the RC Golden Rod.  Boring the MTC rod out to 17mm might leave a comparable amount of material around the pin as the RC rods has (.25 BTW).

My MTC rods don't  have bushings. Good to see a comparison of the two George. That extra meat up top makes me feel better about the possibility of boring from 15mm to 17mm. I'm still going to search for the MA3 rods from the CB1100F. I think a fella down in Georgia has a set-hint hint Billy bling. Might be time for some horse trading?

Gosh Bill, I was counting on my friend to look out for me. Oh well, I got lucky just now and scored a set off Ebay for a decent price. A few more odds and ends to work out and this new crossbreed/hybrid engine  might just come together.

Searching for a good deal on a RC327 cam now- anybody?? I'm going to also try a set of FJ1200 carbs with a jet kit if I can locate some clean ones for a good price. The spacing is close.

Bill, did you get the Ebay links I sent you on the PM wheels? Very similar design to the ones you bought. All fit a Buell but can be adapted to work if you can't find an import fitted Chicane.

I'm being stalked. Hahaha. I could live with that price. So far about $400 total in those rods and the kz pistons. Going to see how cheap I can build this engine and let you guys know my running tab each step of the way. Chamber matching those pistons to the F model head and boring the cylinders is the next step. My local machinist friend should be able to hook me up. Valve job, more port work and heavy duty springs with titanium retainers. Then to source an RC 327 cam. Money, money, money.

Yes, you are.    I was looking at those on eBay is how I know. Those rods are approximately 1.5mm longer than the stock rods. Not sure about your KZ piston pin to crown height. After checking the assembled deck height, you can order a custom thickness base gasket/spacer from Cometic if needed. Pretty sure they offer a Viton clad, both sides, base gasket/spacer in various thicknesses that will not leak.
