Well I'm busy in the workshop getting grandma's bike ready. So I'll be back when I take a break to reply. Question, did you bracket race or run heads up?  ;D,Read about Reaction time and dead on your dial in. Lol. Bill
No clutch here,  BabyFace can ride it!!

it was just a straight race bill . the bike was an rg500 engine in a chassis as long as a wet weekend with the nitrous , it was quite fast . it was [ and still is ] owned by a sponsor of mine who loved the sport
i was told to ride it because i expressed the same opinions to him as i have to you . i posted almost identical times to him which he found strange for some reason [ 25 years experience bla bla bla ] but to me it was the same bike so it was
always going to be the same time
oddly when i suggested he enter the tt and try a few 160mph corners with someone else's elbow jammed in his ear he politely declined

george , its been a little dull round here lately !

bracket racing , winning for being the most consistent ?

I was wondering if that was part of the reason for your tone and timing ... ;)

Bracket racing doesn't appeal to me either on a personal level.  It serveks it's purpose in allowing bikes of far different ages and performance levels to compete head to head on a reasonably even basis.  That helps people bring the vintage bikes out there to be seen and appreciated.

Vintage road racing has enjoyed far more popularity, allowing heads up classes in different age groups, displacements, levels of modification, etc.  That is fantastic.

I wish there were more events where vintage drag bikes could be amongst their "own kind" and not being something of a side show for mainstream modern stuff events.  The modern stuff just doesn't interest me.

Going to Mosport was a blast with all the vintage race bikes there.  All the distinct sights and sounds of vintage Hondas, Yamahas, Nortons, Triumphs, etc, etc.  Loved it 8)

Reminds me of the old argument about the use of delay boxes in drag racing. Hahaha
