NZCMRR Hampton Downs
« on: January 27, 2013, 11:01:02 PM »
Also in the events section but I thought might be seen by more locals here.

This years NZ Classic Motorcycle Racing Register Annual meeting is at Hampton Downs in Hamilton (Not the usual Pukekohe).
February 8.9 and 10.
Theme for this years even is Triumph (Must be getting old if I can remember Triumph being a theme before)   ;D
Featuring: Ron Chandler and his works Trident 750. Ron won the Rouen International F750 race in 1973 (last win in an international event by a Works Trident), 40 years ago.

After a year off the Sad Old Gits will be attending again, most likely on the Sunday.

The dreaded Japanese invasion has begun

Two times Isle of Man TT winner Cameron Donald of Australia has been bought in to ride the McIntosh Manx Norton 500cc and the the McIntosh Suzuki 1135cc machines for the weekend.

Over 250 riders have entered and there are another 30 plus in the 'Cavalcade of History', a tribute to riders past plus those machines that formed the basis of the founding of the NZ Classic Racing Register 35 years ago. Rudge Ulster, Greeves Silverstone, Manx Norton, Matchless G45 and G50 plus AJS 7R Grand Prix bikes will feature from the classic Isle of Man and post war NZ Championships era.

A static display of another 30 machines will be in the Hamptons Pavilion including a rare 1963 Honda RC173 350cc 'works racer' once ridden by World 250 & 350 Champion Jim Redman.

We will be there Saturday
Heading up via Whangamomoana Thursday
