Just wondering... ;D
1. bio diesel:

It's not that bad + you can make it yourself but i don't see that fast a diesel engine in a public motorcycle.
http://www.f1engineering.com/index.html <- military diesel engine.

2. LPG:
You see alot of chinese bike's (@ picture's on the inet) with lpg conversions. So why not?

3. Direct gas injection.:
Honda zoomer! Cheaper fuel consumpion.... yeah but all that darn elektric stuff. *bleh*

4. Elektric:

Cool = 2 wheel drive.
Bad = battery's.

5. Pedaling:

i would try an alternative fuelled bike as long as it was'nt to slow , royal enfield make a diesel powered bike but it is slow as hell, i have seen a steam powered bike in magazines,

i have seen guys over here in the uk running diesels on cooking oil, guess electric is another alternative , loads of kids have electric powered scooters now that they can ride on the road legally at 14/15 i think? ,   mick.

I have often wondered why the diesel has not been a popular car engine in N A. I know the Volks was the laughing stock of the market when it introduced its diesel because it was so slow but with turbo and the past few years of refinement it is very acceptable. A friend of mine just bought one and loves it. Went 790 km on one tank ~ 500 miles.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the large number in Britain when I was there last year and it appeared that both performance and reliability are equal to the gasoline engine. Lot's of women happily driving them and nothing is more attractive than a happy woman!

Both LPG and LNG have not been a screaming success where utilised and their prices are as volatile as gasoline if not more.

Electric is way too expensive due to the length of the extension cord required.

As regards motorcycles, I doubt we will convert to diesel as they are a torque engine, not a rev's engine. Gas cycles are already an economical alternative to cars and further advances in these engines should keep them in the game. I guess what I am saying is that it is a matter of the best application.

The reality of it is that when I look at what I spent on plates, insurance, parts, tools and riding apparel this past year, gasoline was the cheapest component of my fun!
Time is short!

A friend of mine was telling me about these new engines that are suppose to be "taking" over.  If you have time check it out, might learn something and be able to tell me if it's a true possiblity that it might work.

Reminds me of the Norton Wulf "scavenging" two-stroke of the late 70's...
