now that the supermono project is practically ready, am dedicating some time to my first street project in years, a big bore 850 air-oil 1989 GSXR750 endurance replica.
thing is that when i was going through the parts needed to button up the top end, i saw this cam chain tensioner idler wheel and thought it could be a cheapo solution to all those CB750 tensioner issues. these idler wheels sits in air-oil gsxr motors between the two cams and considering that engines are redlined at 13K, it means they should be quite durable.
any air-oil series suzuki engine should have one of these wheels, and that includes katana's, bandits in 600-750-1100-1200 form. need to check, but even the later WP water cooled gsxr might have it too.
dont have a CB750 to try, but looks promising.
