First project 1976 cb550
« on: October 26, 2015, 11:26:44 am »
Just picked this up from a friend who has owned it since 1998. Been sitting for 8 yrs but it is in good shape. Going to make a nice cafe bike out of it.

Other than the airbox, that's a pretty nice looking survivor.  You'll likely retain more value keeping it stock as a survivor or doing a restoration or resto-mod, versus finding a ratty bike to café.  Your bike, your build.  Just a suggestion.  Good luck either way.

Maybe you should get it running reliably and safely first, and ride it, before deciding . . .

Thanks but it was decided before I ever picked it up. I will get it running first. No biggie there. But once it's running it will be tore down and the mods will begin.
