Greetings to anybody willing to read this.  This is my very first post so sorry if i balls things up a tad, like wrong threads etc.

I am restoring a Honda 1973 CB350 Four and although can not afford to get it to concourse status I would like to get it somewhat original. 

I have re-laced both wheels with stainless steel spokes (I did say "somewhat original) but have run into 2 problems. 

First is "What is the actual "offest" for both wheels", I didn't know about that when I took the old spokes  off!

And secondly is it possible to put "original" Bridgestone tires back on both wheels.  The copy of the manual just says Bridgestone 3.00 x 18 and 3.50 x 18, without type, tread or model.

Oops...missed the Four :)  If you need other 350 parts then try the Honda Twins site. Very helpful guys there with extra parts if you need anything. And welcome aboard.

No off set!  Great, had me looking and worrying needlessly, on-wards from here.

OK,  the original Bridgestone tires are not made anymore so would the BT45 be ok?

I kind of like the Dunlop K81's that I remember but am sooo old I may have that balls up too.

BT45's are great tires, I have them on my K4. Not really a vintage looking tread though.

I asked a guy who has done this for 5 years as a professional mechanic and that is what he told me.  I laced up 3 sets worked out great.

I am lucky as I have discount steel supply place and made my own truing stand out of 1/2" steel plate.  Steel alone cost $80.  Rigidity of the stand is the most important factor.  With my stand I can true to racing speck fairly easily.  AVoid the harbor freight setup go for a good one.  Should run around $100.  You may need to reinforce it to improve rigidy.

I think the tire sizes translate to 90/90  18   front and  100/90  18  rear.

So  I have re-laced the wheels with stainless spokes and nipples from Thailand, the spokes are very good BUT some of the nipples split and were drilled out of square!
Short version, $110 latter for 72 new nipples, $295 for labor  to "true" and balance both wheels all looked good!  Then I noticed that the front tire was put on backwards, ie: the arrows are wrong......DOES IT MATTER??  Thanks

I think buying quality parts rather than cheap spokes would save some headaches. I shop here...

Some  people prefer certain tire patterns mounted backwards, and race them that way. I try to get mine on right.  I guess the cords inside have more to do with it than the tread(?).
