Bullsh!t.

You can't tell me what to do.

It would appear that Bullsh!t has been called and apparently - you're not the boss of him.

Life motto:  Adapt or die.

After all of this back and forth, It comes down to "Kids!" from Bye Bye Birdie.  We can go further back - to Plato if needed - but it's all the same.  Yet, the world keeps spinning and the younger generations haven't destroyed everything yet.  So let's all go out for a multi-generational ride.  On SOHC 4's.

p.s. I would be mistaken for a hipster if A) I wasn't so old and B) well . . . see A.  Just because one group is making something popular (craft beer, whiskies, pipes and/or cigars, flannel (talkin' to you Nirvana), cafe racers) doesn't mean it's not enjoyable.

The whole world would be a better place if we all owned a motorcycle.  Might even be an end to war.  I do wear flannel and used to love craft beer before I got the gout.  Not I rarely drink.  If anything I am the one who is pretentious for refusing to change with the rest of the world.  I am warming up to it as I am hearing stories about how it really is adding value to peoples lives.  I love to talk about ideas and other intellectual type stuff not sure if that make me a hipster.  Most kids have a why phase when they are 3 or 4 I think.  Mine did not stop until I was 12 it gets me into trouble at times.  I am still asking why.  As for PBR I never cared for it Genesse Cream Ale all the way!  Talk about beer farts!  Think I once farted for 10 minutes straight.

You might be a Hipster if....

All your clothes are from thrift stores, or “borrowed” from friends and family members.
You’ve got nothing against Starbucks, you’d just rather drink a cup of warm phlegm over their coffee.

You have at least one “artist” friend.
You have at least one “musician” friend.
You have at least one friend that plays dodgeball on the weekend.

You can rattle the names of at least 5 different strains of weed.
…and 3 weed delivery services.
You still have a flip phone…as well as your iPhone.

You work in social media, media relations, or you’re an SEO…ahem.
You keep sending your friends music that NO-ONE has heard yet
…and they’re getting sick of having to listen to your lesbian Tibetan electo-folk sung by blind transgender monks.
You’ve started using slang from the 50’s, you dig daddio?

I do think you guys are confusing two totally different types of people "hippies" and "hipsters" just saying. I also find it funny and in no way offensive.

I traded in my flannel for fleece so as not to be mislabeled.

I can't grow enough hair on top anymore to wear a "Man bun", so instead I go short intentionally.
I don't look good in beards, covers my beauty too much.
I like motorcycles, and motorcyclists that ride responsibly, safely, and with good habits.
Tear it down, strip it down, paint or not. I like it if it improves the performance. Looks kill, performance thrills.
I don't drink coffee, I drink espresso. And I don't drink flavored caffeinated beverages.
I don't like craft beers, in fact, I don't much prefer beer. I drink rum or first vintage bordeaux. Hipsters can't afford that  ;)
I don't look good in skinny jeans as they only fit on one leg and my other gets cold.

And I am huge proponent of rescuing abandoned, rusted and discarded motorcycles and giving them new life. It creates economy, social connections, and increases the number of riders. And those are all good things! More riders everywhere, means vehicles begin to notice all of us. Safer all around.

I hate Lesbian, Tibetan electro-folk performed by Blind Monks. I just can't follow the beat. Can you dig that, Daddy-O?

Here is something I found funny recently.  Looks like it is considered hip to shave - if hipster shaves, haha - with a straight razor.

I shave with grandpa's straight razor for 15 years or so; I wonder if that makes me a hipster or an old fart?

A cheap, nostalgic old fart to be clear.  ;)

Yup, that would be just about right.

Another member around here told me there were good looking young women in the mall giving shaves with a straight razor at the new shave shop.  So I run right over there for the full experience hoping we could work out a sq ft rate as I am very hairy and to my dismay I find a young boyish looking dude.  I felt totally ripped off.

Don't you old people think you where following a trend back in the 70s? When 750 started becoming so popular. Also I would guess to say that when you got your first CB you didn't know everything about it or how to fix it overnight? At some point we all die and if we don't pass down our love of old bikes then at some point they all disappear.

Speaking of Trends according to Google Trends the term hipster took off like a rocket ship starting in 2009 and hit and all time high in 2013 and is leveling off.

I  went riding around the other night and decided I'd go window shopping for music.

I looked inside and there was a turntable and guy scratching and a smattering of people bobbing their heads to a techno beat.  I realized about every piece of clothing I had on was black and I was hanging out in front so I thought I'd better get away.

Do I need Hipsters annonymous?

On Yahoo this morning.  The black motorcycle jacket.  Described as the epitome of style.  Advised to get the slim-cut unless you are actually planning to ride a motorcycle.  All that hipsterness for only $4,990.00.  A steal.
