Long time no post; Elsa V5.0
« on: April 04, 2016, 01:53:47 PM »
Been a long long time fellas, but it happens.

Changed careers, bought a house, got a couple more bikes.....Well, Elsa is still my main throttle squeeze, but I have done some serious work in the last couple years, and she's getting ready to have some more carb work done in the next few weeks.
Anywho.

I'll give some backstory, simply because, I'm not sure who even visits the site anymore.
I bought this 77 cb750 for 250 dollars titled back in 08 hadn't been running or on the road since 93.
It took me the better part of a year to get her running, licensed, and well, we will just to be nice to my past self and say "customized".

I've learned a lot, gotten better at working on her, and a better eye for what a bike should/can look like.
About 3 or so years ago, a local fella with a knack for motorcycles helped me make my bike more aesthetically pleasing, and I'm thankful for that. Funny part is now he's my boyfriend, we bought a house together and I helped him while he was getting his motorcycle business off the ground, but i digress.

Other than your normal clean carbs, jet, tune up bike change oil crap, this bike wanted to be back on the road, and was really really easy on me.
I was able to reuse all the wiring, charging system etc until i WANTED to spend the money.
I've done some gaskets, carb jetting, syncing, rewiring, tires, and loads and loads of cosmetics.
Ricks regulator, custom wiring harness, smaller gel battery, paint job, ceramic pads, street bike master cylinder, kick start only.

Last year, i did some serious maintenance, including upgrading to a spin on oil filter, replacing the oil lines, reworking the header pipe to fix some leaks and get them painted, a new cable, etc etc.
Anyway, I know how you guys are, here are some pictures.
I've been through this thing so many times, i could probably tell you whatever about it, feel free to ask, and enjoy, now that it's not green.  ;)

Shes been a single kick bike, (or a bump start down the driveway) for about 3 years now, and she overheard me talking about going through the carbs and moving the needle clip down one and going down in the main jet.
Soooooo, she was puking gas this morning.
Serves me right, i should have just spelled everything out to keep it quiet. ::)

Thanks!

That was all of our bikes from last year. we've changed the line up just a bit. The RD sold, the shovelhead sold, and the ironhead is being turned into a stroker!

Paint was done by a local guy "johns house of paint"
I picked the base coat(Pontiac blue or gratto blue ) and picked 2 panel themes, the endless lines and lace top panel, told him to do whatever he wanted with the third and he picked flames. I hate flames.
Whatever, they grew on me.

The rear was a lot more snug to the tire before I raised the bike back up, but I can now go over just about anything I want without hitting bottom anywhere.
Getting parts ordered this week to get the carbs changed up, and do a little tune up.
It'll be fun right?
Maybe.

So I think I was talking about how I needed to go through and give my carbs a scrubbing and my bike overheard and decided to start puking gas and all sorts of nasty crap.....

Well, if I didn't, I just did.

Anywho, ripped the carbs off, decided to replace all my manifold clamps, lower the main from 125-120 and move the needle clip down one position.

Obviously since I'm going to have to pull the slides out, I will be redoing my synchronization.
I'm wondering if I should do a little tutorial on these, since so many peeps seems to have trouble on the Pd carbs.
Hmm....

Of course my riding has gotten better!

I also wired up a horn.
Rode down and took the written test and they went ahead and
Had me do the riding portion right then. The whole thing took
About 35 minutes maybe.
I passed the riding portion well enough to where I could've

I did my carbs and my friends carbs(the bike is at Ricky's shop getting engine work)
