Hell yeah!!
Last summer a friend of mine made me take a spin with his bike. Afterwords he asked did i get a feever and i said no way.
Few weeks after that i vent to my garage and dag out the cb

Im gonna give it a good shake down.
Modify suspension, engine check,repaint and more.
First i stripped the bike to parts.
It was a nice thing to notice that the long stand still didnt do any harm.
Thin that pissed me of was the Henry Abe kit and lack of spare parts. So i ordered std jug and pistons.

First to mod is the oil tank.
Its made from fire extinguisher like many are. I wanted to hide the battery.

The rear is actually ridgid dispite what it looks like.
Im gonna install new shocks in the rear and iv made the rear fender move with swingarm.

In the picture there is old shocks. Its left to be seen do i have to move the mounts on new shocks. Lenght is 315mm.

Ignitioin coils are coming on the side and im trying my best to hide the wiring.

Mount the coils under the carbs, then run the plugwires thru the cylinders and up to the sparkplugs.
Is that a suzuki monoshock swingarm ? I think i have the same..want to shorten it around 50 mm.

That under carb idea is really good but somehow i like those chrome coils to been shown. The swingarm is from yamaha fzr.

Yes i drove it for few years. Bikes been sitting in the garage from 08.

I really liked it but i havent driven a stock 750 yet so i cant really compare. Anyway its gonna be stock. I like to cruise

Some painting done today. Semi gloss black and copper. The copper actually looks orange to me. Well what can you do. I had a stepside chevy years ago and i painted it in black and orange. Just like the color combination

Im on a budget so bought Motip spray paint.

The frame and rear swingarm/fender are next. As soon as i get the time.
After that il start the engine build up.

The 315mm shocks arrived today. Tomorrow im gonna try to fit them on. There is gonna be some more grinding and welding to do because the old shocks are 250mm.

So here is the result. 2 hours of grinding and tig welding.

I think they sit ok. Dont know about stance yet. Its left to be seen like the function of the suspension.

Up next is more painting.
I hope to get the missing engine parts in the near future.

If i keep up this speed il be driving by xmas

Jeeez , coulda fit your battery in the whole on the front of the arm, and kept the clean lines of the oil bag..
One minus is the battery weight is a minus if moving with the arm, but pretty sure you and myself are not worrying about that..
Big Plus is, gets one of the heaviest components, down low, where it should be..lower center of gravity..
I like that arm , here is a pic of mine.. And a pic of the shock mounts before i cut them off.

would you have to cushion the battery if mounted on the swingarm?there are a lot of opinions about electronic ignition,I run a mag setup,dyna seems popular.bill

Now iv got all the parts in one place. In my garage. Tomorrow im gonna put the front and rear end into place and test the suspension and stance. Handel bar is also under construction. 70cm 60cm 55cm or 50cm. Dont know yet.
Does anyone have an experience from narrower bars?

the bars on your bike don't look too bad,you might want to look into drag bars,with or without risers.bill

I have 22mm steel tube at home. I was thinking straight bars. The widht is still unknown.
