75 cb550f won't startup when warm
« on: November 03, 2015, 06:07:28 AM »
Bike died on me a couple times this past week. Accessories would stay on, but seems like I would just lose spark. Just like hitting the kill switch.  Bike will not start back up right away, but after letting it sit for a few hours it would start right back up and run fine.

I have a dyna ignition and coils. Also I recently changed my front turns to leds and my rear brake light bulb to a led.

This is a more common than not issue with some Dyna ignitions. It seems that after getting warm, one side of the plate loses power. Are you coils 3 or 5 Ohm (Green is 3, Black is 5).

The power feed to the ignition is probably in question. Should be the BLK/WHT wire coming from KILL switch. Check for a short and continuity on it.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
