With a drag chassis, there were no provisions for rear shocks. Haven't had any problems with good tracks. It was built as a bracket bike, not low ET of the earth type.

I've tried that rear brake setup. I'm up to high 11's estimated best using it. I suspect that the bike will pull through the rear brake pressure with the right cam and converter. This is sounding more and more like a slow off the line, top end strong bike. Good luck with this one. You definitely need some test and tune time to sort out the launch. I just hope that the fiber clutches are mostly there. If they are badly worn, you'll find a slipping clutch on launch and/or at the gear shift. Good luck!
Jon, I hear you...but I ain't telling all,,ok how about using f brake also, with micro switch on brake lever controlling line lock,  release both brakes same time! I think it might just work! I'm back at it, got some news on 2K bonus also, see other thread in a little whilel pics in a minute, as usual, any advice welcome, ideas etc.Bill

Keep it moving Bill. You're getting it done by your own vision. No stop when the brake rebuilding is done and crank it up. You still don't know what you're working with motor and carb wise. It'd be a shame to go through all that work just to find out you needed to have spent time adjusting valves or rejetting the carbs. Worst yet, the  proposed onboard start system won't work with one battery trying to crank that high compression 1080. No many days left brother. Make them count. I've got confidence in you.

Please use caution starting the bike with that Bill. I have personally witnessed an outboard starter break several arms and wrists. Grip it tightly when using and don't put your head low enough for the handles to crack your skull in case it slips.

I'll never forget my first time on Fletcher's bike, I didn't know to have the bar on engine case! I have not forgotten, at least I cranked his bike and then untwisted my pretzel arms as the little toy brain said what's wrong with this picture! LMAO. Thanks,  Frank, I appreciate the reminder.

Yes it was. 1080 engine has an internal engine problem.  It binds up at one point and something is hitting something!
Time to concentrate on Cobra Girl!  I'll fix the Automatic asap once I get back from Valdosta,  Bill

I would love to see ya'll to Dave but it's not going to happen, not soon anyway.
As you all sleep, I'm waiting for a cab to take me to the hospital to see the big consultant Neuro Dr that has been overseeing my rehab. I think it's only a routine check up as I've not seen him for 6 months. I'm not sure if he will give me the all clear (or this is as good as it gets) as I am no different to when he last saw me.
Good luck at Valdosta Dave and everyone, ride safe.

HONDAMATIC down for the count again ????  Had a GS motor that when we turn over BY HAND stopped and locked either way rolling motor over, pulled the motor down and found a valve keeper stuck in the crank gear......... how and why it got their was never found. That is why Joe MSP built a motor room and only two people at a time was allowed in that room, motors only, no eating, no folks standing around, and a super clean work station. Try this when you are ready to fire up the MATIC = SPIN THE MOTOR OVER WITH NO IGNITION ON AND AT A SIGNAL FROM THE RIDER FLIP THE ON SWITCH TO SAVE THAT CRANK [ rings have not moved in the whole trip getting to the track ], Pro Stock motors are started that way so the crank and motor live a little longer = PRO MOTORS riders turn on vacuum pump first, then spin, then switch ON START.
Bill wire in a two step, no creeping then, all those BUSA in ST/ET sound up and down with their clutch in and rider rolling on the gas = WATCH AND LISTEN!!!!

Give that man a gold star! I'm guessing too tight sumpin, and a valve hitting/ bent. We'll find out l why later.
