Ummm, thats not the way i meant it Jerry. No offense was directed towards Jon. He was in "playing the hand he was dealt" via the braking system on the WORM. He just didn't have time to get a handle on it as well as the previous owner.

If anyone is the redlight King, it would be me.

Frank 10.30 : Unlike your SOHC750 the HONDA CM450A comes with a LINE LOCK = the left hand parking brake with the lock pin removed thru a cable after you push the right foot brake lever down as far as you can go = pull in the left handle bar parking lever and on the LAST YELLOW throw that lever out...... Vic must have removed it, another advantage you got both feet on the ground behind the crank.  Built in rev limiter will lay that motor off at a FACTORY set RPM..... 7 YEARS ON A CM400A  Hondamatic YOU LEARN THINGS.

If 24 volts can crank my 80mm, 13.5-1 Kawasaki motor with ease, that "1062" shouldn't know what hit it. Glad you got it taken care of Bill. Kickback isn't good on an old mans leg. I can attest to that.

Just 6 total passes I got on a bike that was new to me. Did anyone see a lever on the left side of the handlebars??? (NO) I can't use what I don't have. I don't know if that will work with the motor that I was running. Pops ~20 hp motor is much easier to hold on the starting line than the ~48 hp motor I was running. Ask Sam  how easy it was to hold a healthy Hondamatic on the starting line with your left hand. Different method with the same limitations. Your hand produces a lot less pressure than your foot can. Neither method (hand hydraulic or foot mechanical) is consistent. The longer you supply the pressure, the greater the chance for variations. That's why I like and use a line lock on my Hondamatics since 1986. Here's my reaction times in order:
.000, -.319, -.087, -.062, .042, -.049. I think that my orderly reducing of my staging depth was helping me find out where I should launch the bike. Remember, Vic twice made the final round in Street ET with the setup that I drove. He might have learned a few things in the over 530 passes he made on the Worm. Every opponent that I red lighted against broke out by multiple tenths on their free pass. How do they expect to judge a finish line at 40+ mph faster than I was going? Any good reaction time with a honest dial-in should go several rounds, if you can dial the conditions. Fewer sharks since the expensive clutches left. With more practice, a CB750 bike may go deep like Wilbur.

Wilbur proved you don't have to be quick to make rounds on an Sohc nor does the bike have to be in full drag dress- though it does make one more consistent. When Sundays weather conditions settled down, I was able to keep my dial ins a lot closer than Saturday. A longer wheelbase clutch bike can repeat and win. Just my opinion.

397? Darn it man, that's  40 lbs lighter than my bike. The weight difference alone makes your bike a full tenth quicker, all things else being equal. Not much I intend to do to reduce weight on mine any further - I'll play my hand. No reason with your fresh 73mm  you can't run 9.90's. Looking forward to seeing the time slip.

Yeah, when you double the voltage, you also double the amps, and get four times the horsepower!! I assume you are going to run a charging system for the primary battery, and are planning on re-charging the extra battery between rounds?

I've got 2 antigravity batteries in my Kaw. Its total loss. I use my balanced Li po battery charger between rounds. If I did have nitrous on the bike I probably wouldn't need to charge it as often. I only charge the booster battery after every 3 pass. I've got pigtails' hanging under the body work.

Yippee Kai Yeah,  the goal is to break V&H 's record of 9.74  @ 137.19 mph!  That was the best they ran in 1975 and won the Pro Stock championship!  There's was 1162, had a 1/4 inch stroker,  right now mine is 1062. But yes I want that and the world's quickest 750 automatic!  I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night!  Lol, Bill

LOL. It's from the commercial. Holiday Inn commercials imply that staying at a Holiday Inn somehow makes you smarter. One character will speak knowledgeably about a particular subject, such as medicine, generating an exchange something like:

FRANK 10.30 : That parking brake was removed on the VIC bike, guess he learned to leave foot braking = I like staging winding throttle all the way open and throwing out the brake lever [ line lock ] on the LAST YELLOW bulb , maybe some tracks have a different tree ??????? er er er er  don't roll back out of the lights when both lite = you get a red eye.  Valdosta has cross talk of [ they said 7 seconds ] so get in or go red. The track in my woods has a NHRA class you stage then green no yellows a real no box
 MWS you will need bars and a box, to bad they don't have a 9.90 S/G class and you could throw in a throttle stop on that 9.60 bike.
