9.70's is nit likely gonna happen on a no bar, normally aspirated SOHC. I think Bill and I can try to make it happen together on a lightened wheelie bar bike. Anyone have the exact specs for the bike Bryan ran??

Yes, been cleaning up this one!  New pegs,ex bracket and clamp, new kickstarter, not bent, removed brake light switch and bracket, ordered new bars and installing new f /end to lower and stiffen it! Also got new short velocity stacks coming from Sudco.Oh new triangle alum motor mount.F Fender and it'll be bout ready!

I don't have any direct source specs on that bike, but enough is known about it that the specs could       be basically reverse engineered.

I believe it had:

Lightweight fiberglass tank, headlight bracket and bucket/faux headlight, front and rear fenders
RC off the shelf extended swing arm
RC swing arm mount wheelie bars and brackets.
Solid rear wheel(16"?), with slick
Stock frame, anything unnecessary removed.
1162 motor.  Welded lightened stroker crank, RC heavily massaged head, likely early golden rods, Arias RC 73mm high compression pistons, likely 327 cam, 33.5/28 Manley SS valves, backcut gears, ARD magneto, no battery/wiring, standard foot shift, etc.

I can lookup the Pro Stock weight break for 1975 and see what the total all up weight would have been, but there will be some guess work regarding how much weight was needed to make weight, the more the better for weight forward.

I'd guess about 600lbs all up, I'll check.

I have the weight breaks for 1976 through 1979, but not 1975.  The cb750 pro stocker had but a 3 event lifespan at the tail end of the 1975 AMARA season starting at the AMDRA championships in Atco, NJ.  (They switched to a Kawasaki for 1976 and 1977)

For 1976 anyway, SOHC motored bikes required 7.8lbs/cubic inch for AMDRA.  1162cc =70.91ci. X 7.8= 553lbs all up.

The competing IDBA, the SOHC bikes required 8.2lbs/cubic inch.  So 581lbs for IDBA.

The AMDRA 1975 rulebook has weightbreak listed at 8.1 pounds per cubic inch in Pro Stock for the SOHC motors.

Great, no more bailing wire to hold the pipe on. We got a real metal bracket now!!!. Glad your stiffening up the front ends on all your bikes. Way to much sponge and travel for drag racing. You'll see the difference

Hehe,  had to improvise at track, but dem hideous red caps and bailing wire gone! Hey, we may be z clowns, but we can do better! Lol. Yes Frank stiffening the front on both. Get rid of those BLING aluminium bolts holding those lower oil lines on the motor [ with o rings ] and fix that broken aluminium oil line bolt on the bike TREY was riding = those BLING thing breaks off or leaks at the big end your right boot and rear tire will be in the oil = can you see flashing lights and a siren ?????? The BLING you will be seeing is many bills from health care folks. Black STEEL ALLENS ARE GRADE 8 OR BETTER.

Couldn't agree more. Still teaching someone when I can. And yes they are not on my bikes if I installed the lines. But hey ,he's got to learn, but as I told him already ,oil is deadly and slippery! Don't need to go asking for it, bling has its places, but not on oil lines, etc. See Cobra Girl attached pic, but

Out of curiosity, what’s the specific interest in a head ported by Butch Pace?

I acquired mine as a dead soldier left behind amid a sea of sacrifices to the gods of speed.  It had a rod let go in the number 4 cylinder pushing the piston up enough to make a large imprinted dent impression at the perimeter of the chamber, along with some chamber damage when the piston broke apart.  My interest in it was more the historical artifact aspect (I’m drawn to vintage high performance parts, that were originally raced in the 70s) than any particular reverence to his porting.  It was no money savings over having a virgin head
done up by Mike.  I knew this going in, but I seem to like torturing Mike with old broken hipo stuff.🤫

Jim French did a bang up job with the chamber repairs(amazing laser welding work), Mike Rieck revamped the entire head to new condition and added his own special sauce to the porting, with Rick Stetson handling the valve job and decking.

It is getting double secret probation modifications work done to it now, for the sole purpose of agitating Mike further😂

He's got plenty of pics Frank....several photo albums. I'll try and take some pics of the pics Saturday when I see him. Funny thing is Billy has a black and white 8 X 10 in his trailer of 2 racers.....one is Stetson. Billy didn't know it until i pointed it out.
 Engine was really special and basically undoable today. The cam he used was similar to what Kawasaki's were using in regard to lift and duration. Lots of logistical problems just with the cam with .450 or so of lift and 38mm/32mm valves. The bike itself is in Texas now.

Stock stroke Frank with 74mm pistons.....1055cc or so I'd guess. Long wheelie bars. Pretty sure cone top Mikuni's.....I know he spent a lot of time experimenting with the shape of needle jet nozzle. Head had Del West Ti valves, really large straight ports, crazy valve to valve clearance at overlap, car springs etc etc.....the package was very delicate. The head had to come off after every race weekend as the valve job would be all over the place. I forget how hard he spun it.
 I was at the shop today but he was to busy to bust out pics.....I'll try later but I'm going on a 2 week cruise starting next Saturday. ;) ;D
