First bike was a 72 Yamahax 360 RT 2 MX, bought at about age 13.  Went all over cottage country (Muskoka) on it , and learned to respect the power and the limits of a bike.

Bought a 74 CB350F and got my M licence at age 16.  Sold it to my older sister at age 19 for post secondary school money, and she used it to get to and from her college campuses.

Finished college and went to visit her and saw the bike sitting in her garage covered in pigeon poo, so I bought it back.  She hadn't changed the ownership from my name.

Life happened and it ended up sitting in my garage for way too long.  Now with the fabulous help of this forum I discovered I can restore it and have one of the best parts of my life back.  ;D

I'm 44...I have always been a gearhead and loved everything  with wheels.  I started riding at 28, when a friend gave me a cb350k.  It was a pos and I got frustrated trying to keep it running after a couple seasons.  Then about 2007? gas got so expensive I could no longer afford my big block v8 addictions...so I got another bike, a cb360.  This little bike actually responded to repairs and improvements and I got hooked...then a friend let me ride his cb750...I did the ton on that first ride and my mind was blown, had to have one asap!  Since then I have lost count of how many 750's I have had, plus owned the same 550 twice, and several other jap bikes too.  I think I will always have to have a running/riding cb750, no matter what other bikes I have.
If it works good, it looks good...

29 next month. I've been riding cb's and other vintage bikes since I was 16. It was a passion of my father which rubbed off on me.

49 -   First saw the CB750 when I was a youngster in grade school and wanted one ever since.  Only took me about 40 years to realize that dream.... I guess better late, than never. ;D

Just did a quick count(might of missed one or 2) on the age groups that have posted here so far:
20's 15
30's 12
40's 9
50's 18
60's 11
70's 3
I figured us 50 guys would be leading the pack here, but it surprises me that their are that many 20 age group sohc4 riders. Heck I've got underwear and socks that old ;D But I'm happy to see the young guys riding these old Honda's and realizing what great bike's they were and still are ;)

Would be interesting to know which ages are modifying these bikes (cafe's, bobbers, choppers, etc.) and which are keeping them stock or restoring them. I assume the younger a ones are modding and the older crowd are keeping stock but it would be cool to know for sure. Some sort of visual graph thing would be nice based off numbers of a vote.

There's a good idea, Dave!
But,...I'm not sure how to put me on that list, as the cafe' guys bring their bikes TO me to make them, while I restore the ones I build for sale?

Although once in a while I get to meet someone as sick as I am, who wants his 750 to look brand new....like mine (but with better paint).
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

Just choose yes for keeping it stock and yes for modifying it so you negate your own vote, haha.

Well, then there's dodos like me:
28 years old, I'm on my 4th SOHC CB750, 2 stock and in good shape when I happened across them, my '71 restomod, and my 1970 factory concours restoration project.

My (twin) brother (also 28, but not part of this forum), has a 78 CB750F3, showroom condition. We call her Black Beauty..

We've each had heaps of bikes, Josh has kept almost every one he's owned and I've sold most of mine.
I started on an '85 VFR500, came with an extra parts bike, then bought 2 more VFR500s not running. Got em each running and sold those. Then,
1984 VF750 Magna - sold
1956 Ariel 500, beautiful
1990 FZR1000 - sold, still looking for a good deal on one...
1977 CB750F - sold
1978 CB750F - Josh has it
2007 CBR 600RR - sold
1971 CB750K1 Restomod
1974 CB360 custom hard tail bobber - wife rides it
1970 CB750K0 - factory restoration on going

All that to say that it's hard to put some chaps in a modified or unmodified category. At least I fit squarely into the 20s block for now, 28 is only 30 minus 2, and I'm 29 in a few months

Tell her the new bikes belong to others who asked you to work on them but they couldn't pay so you were forced to exercise your Mechanic's Lein.  ;)

60.
Started out in 1970 with an 1966 160 Scrambler, but i loaned it to a friend who got hit on it and the frame got bent beyond fixing. Always wanted the CB175. In 1974 I bought a nice 75 CB750 which had cool fairing. Color matched and everything. Some thief thought it cool too. I owned that one for about 7 months.
After a 20 something year hiatus from riding (kids are all out), I fell for the Electra Glide in 2002.
Then in about 2009 came the 1966 CL77. Wonderful $500 investment. And then in 2013 came the 1978 CB750 for a sweet $1,500.
Looking for a three car garage home before I retire, that way there's always room for one more.

I'm 30 with a 1978 Cb750K.  The attached pic is my bike from when I bought it in July.  Sissy bar has since been removed. Just received drag bars and next will be a new seat and shorty shocks.

I said I was almost 63, but inside my head it's usually more like 36 but today it's more like 18 because it's really windy and fairly cool and November and all I can think about is getting on an old Honda and heading anywhere for a couple weeks.
