These and a 1/16 npt tap might work  I have to look at a bowl..

It might, I don't think there is a lot of meat there if I remember right, I'm wondering if the overflow tube and the barb are 1 piece. If they are it'll be hard to add an elbow. I think I might just plug them.

They likely are , you tap the bottom, then use a 1/16 npt plug., or ream and push in a short pin
Then tap same thread  in the side  use  a 90 degree fitting.
 But.. I have to look at a bowl see how much meat holds the overflow tube.
 I wil, try to look at a bowl maybe later today,  or put up a pic.
