If Canada is too chicken#$%* to restore it by all means take it to Oz I would personally ask the gent when it's restored to RAAF colors that it's history is listed so that the history is not lost. Canadians don't seem to want to remember our history, so if some one can keep it flying good for them.

I shall have to contemplate the meaning of life and the universe and every thing, if a stranger can save some history that has meaning, why can't we, maybe it's time to step back from money grubbing pastimes and think.

do you know if that Lanc has merlins installed or removed ???  If the former, perhaps we could rent a van, drive up with a suitably provisioned tool kit and "liberate" one . . or two ?

We could wear dark clothing and balaclavas (and especially gloves) and thus no-one would recognise us, and we would get off scot free. As they say.

Prerequisite is you stay off the jar and practice your highly honed skills. I'll drive the van, hold the ladder, and shoo away any curious dogs.

Are we on ?
