Just started my carb rebuild and not sure about removing the jets shown in the picture, do they unscrew or pull out or what? There is no screwdriver flat in the top so not sure and dont want to damage anything.

If you think there's light at the end of the tunnel it's usually another train !!

I'm gonna get in on this to find out how. I usually start by thinking "ok, only very gently, just gonna wiggle it out," using smooth square jawed pliers, going in so careful, then getting some movement, they're o-ring sealed and just press in, and then the pliers slip off. Ok no big deal try it again, by the time I get it out, they have some marks and maybe out of round alittle bit! I seen on 4into1 website they have both those jets for a couple bucks each, factory prices are up there stupidly high.

That highest brass up is the main jet and it is just pushed in and held in place by an o ring. The emulsifier tube is just below that and you'll want that out as well so you can clean those holes that are likely clogged badly. Just grip it tightly (you can use a shop rag to protect it) and wiggle it out. That o ring is probably pretty hard. The lower one is the float valve seat. Same deal there.

And you do want to try reuse that brass (particularly the main and idle jets) because a lot of the aftermarket ones are not Keihin and suck.

A bit of flame applied with a propane torch works well for things stuck with o-rings. Heat it up a little then gently twit with pliers.
 You'll have to replace the o-rings of course.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

if you haven't got them out already, one thing is for sure: the ends of the towers that hold the jets and the float pins are the first point in corrosive deterioration, it's not quite like a tooth that has to be ground out into good tissue before repair is made, you really want to be so careful with those, very careful. Just wiggle them out like riverfever said, with a rag. And don't use superclean the purple degreaser, it'll eat aluminum and no telling what other soft metals.

Thanks for all the help guys - one ? under the main jet is the emuslfier tube right.

How does this actually come out? push doen from other end or try and get some needle pliers in and pull up? Really dont want to damage anythig here as having now striped 2 carbs (aprt from the jets) all looks in pretty clean condition and just want to change the O rings

Right, very easy to do. You can even do it with the carbs in place. Here is how. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,151734.msg1733813.html#msg1733813
For you it is easier now that you've removed the carbs and you can complete the maintenance by spraying some carb cleaner into the pilot system air jet as shown in the pic.
BTW, don't be tempted to separate the carbs from each other.
