Found something cool under the seat of my new K0
« on: November 11, 2015, 01:30:31 PM »
It is a pretty nice afternoon here in southern Michigan so I pushed the 750 out of the garage for a few more pictures.  Minus the inside of the tank she looks pretty good.  I looked under the seat and was very surprised to find a tool kit.

Here are the additional pics.  It's starting to grow on me.

Great tool kit it even has the feeler gauges which is rare.  That is a great looking bike, you got a deal on it for sure.  I would repaint the honda tank emblems back to black it will look better imho.....

Were they originally black?  Because I totally agree, it would look better.

This bike has been preserved from modifications and it is in a very good looking.

Do you know it history, mileage ....

How does it run?

Thanks Philippe, it has 21K miles but hasn't been started in 16 years.  It was owned by an 80 yr old friend of the family.

Hopefully no gas in tank. Caswell make a great epoxy tank liner that bonds to rust if needed. Hopefully a little work on the carbs and timing and you will be in business. Found my K3 in the back of a garage after 22 years. It was better than sex.

Those wrenches are different than later years, 19 and 17 on the big one then 14-10, 12-8 I think. The one on the left may be an extra. looks like you may need a screwdriver bit and the point file for 100%.  The double box end is hard to find too.

Wow, sweet! What frame number you got? If its only rust in the tank, just remove it and do not line it with anything. There are many ways to derust a tank. You should only use tank liner if it has pin holes. Good luck on your venture that is one nice piece of vintage Honda.

Beautiful, it should clean up nicely. I hope all you need to do is just clean and polish it, looks very well taken care of. Have you dropped the float bowls yet?

Tony not lucky enough to have a heated shop like Johnie in WI. But I could always back up the Z-turn mower 6" and may be shift it 6" to the left and slide the powertec up 6" and I believe I could just squeeze that KO in my garage ;)

Dont get me wrong I LOVE motorcyles and get stoked over a inpressive find on a cherry well preserved classic  but ,"better than sex" .... Thats a figure of speech Id never use, lol. Hope I dont ever say that even in my 60's. Apples and.oranges there.
