No longer an owner of an SOHC
« on: January 01, 2016, 09:01:51 AM »
 :'(

I just finished delivering my 550K to my Dad for his birthday.  Of course there was snow and ice everywhere, so we had to cover it and let it sit until it thaws.  Promised him I'd be back in the spring to rebuild the carburetor and clean up any incidental items.

Then we're going for a ride - him on the SOHC, me on my DOHC.

Heluva nice birthday gift, Rob! And at least you kept her in the family so you can visit once in a while. ;)

I don't have a running SOHC/4 right now (actually I don't have a running any kind of MC right now despite have 2 motorcycles and a scooter).

When I did have a running bike it was my '77 GL1000 Goldwing a couple year ago, and that didn't stop me from riding it in the 2014 Relay Rally with my SOHC/4 buddies. That's the great thing about this group, they are definitely run what you got folks.

Very noble son you are EV! My dad and I never had a chance to share that kind of thing although I think he would've like too.

I sold my SOHCs a while ago too. I will get another one once I'm done with the current bathroom project and I sell my boat, both take up a lot of hobby time. I have the CX500 currently and I get time to go out and wrench on it. As long as its always ridable that's what really counts! And yes I will be into a summer ride around the PNW too.

Robby I was ready to rip you a new one, but after I read the post, I can't do it.
Your one of the GOOD GUYS ROBBY :)
and
you might still be working on your pop's bike sometimes, so you haven't truly relinquished ownership. :)
