NLA Parts
« on: March 03, 2016, 02:56:25 PM »
Hey all, I'm looking at getting my 550 up and running. Currently have the carbs ready to go with a fresh rebuild from harisuluv (highly reccomend) and currently sourcing an exhaust and deciding which way to go. I am looking for a few hose bits however that I'm not quite sure where to find since everywhere seems to be No Longer Available. The parts are as follows:

Item # 15

Item 28
http://www.houseofhondaparts.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=2451813&category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=1978&fveh=131104

As well as looking for a good petcock rebuild kit. Any and all help is appreciated. With Spring rearing it's head I'd like to get her up and running!

I don't know about 28 but for 15 you can use windshield wiper hose.  Those are carb overflow tubes and in a good and just world they shouldn't see much, if any, gasoline running through them. Just make sure it's a snug fit and call it good.

That's what I use, anyway.

I've had bad luck with petcock rebuild kits, I now just buy a new genuine Honda part and call it done.
But there is one 550 model petcock that is NLA, but they can be had, just are expensive.

Do you have a pic of the petcock?  If it's like mine I can tell you where to get stuff for it.  But, if it's like mine all you can get are gaskets and in-tank filters.

The hoses are available in bulk from several Honda dealers, like BikeBandit. Just cut to length.
