The "carbs" are fake.
These arttraps hide the fuel injection.

Actually, they house the throttle bodies and hide the ride by wire throttle, they look better than standard throttle bodies with all the electrics hanging off them and at least they aren't plastic....... ;)

I think in a way the Triumph is a bit like the Honda CB 1100..
Kind of a loosely modern replication of the old original.
And some folks overlook the visual differences, as for them, the modern improvements outweigh the differences in looks..
And then some other folks, myself included, still prefer the old original with all its quirks and charm...

Frank, the key is to think of them as totally unrelated, each with there own pluses and minuses, a bike is a bike...
If it works good, it looks good...

Unless it's a steenkin' F............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

That would all be fine , if....they did not do stuff like...
 Introducing the new Bonnevile.... Improved..
Or... Honda attempted to recreate the simplicity of the CB 750, but improved......  And then priced itself out of part of the market..

And then people spend gobs of money trying to make them resemble a CB 750 or Bonneville...in fact what they spend could probably buy them the real thing..

But Frank, not everyone wants to turn them into 1969 Triumphs mate, There are a lot of improvements over the old ones, like reliability, wiring and no oil leaks just for a start. I completely understand that you like the early ones though, I do too, but I also like the new ones, Triumph aren't trying to replicate the old, but if they were, I would also be more than happy, an old T 100/120 with modern reliability would be awesome although I would rather have the T160 Trident... ;)
