3/71 CB500F crankcases
« on: November 19, 2015, 03:21:36 PM »
Just bought an early CB500 (VIN less than 1000) Frame date 3/71. Can anyone identify the differences with the early crankcases on these early bikes please.

I didn't know there were any differences?

Cheers for the link ..very useful as I didn't have K2 manual.

Nothing listed on crankcase changes BUT they are definitely different on my engine. It's from 1st months production VIN less than 1000

Keep in mind there are two CB500K2s with some 3-4 years in between. There is the CB500K2 (A) marketed in the USA in 1973 and there's the CB500K2 (ED, F, G) marketed on the European continent in 1976-7. The latter shares quite some parts with the CB550K2, marketed in US in 1976.
