Hypercar Holy Trinity
« on: December 03, 2015, 05:10:54 PM »
Any of you that followed 'Top Gear' will enjoy these video clips. The Top Gear guys were trying to make this happen before Clarkson eff'd up this past year and the show was cancelled.

Anyways... not be all end all tests for the best supercar out there, but fun to watch, nonetheless.

Someone please tell me if there is a better sound in the world than a V12 Ferrari. I wish Formula 1 would return to V10's or V12's.

Enjoy!

I'd be happy if F1 would kick the rpm limit back up to 18k+ again.

According to Wikipedia that is a inline 6 cylinder at 249cc?  I also read it had a red line of 20,000 RPM!  Amazing.

The RC174 is another one that comes to mind.

But for me, nothing compares to the old F1 V10's & V12's.  Like bailgang mentioned.... kick up the revs again like the mid-late 90's and into the 2000's.  Back when the commentators used to tell you to turn up the tv at the start of every race.

All this talk is getting me excited for the 2016 F1 season, and we're only 1 week removed from the 2015 season.  Ugh!  118 days until Albert Park.  I've always been a Ferrari guy, but will certainly be rooting for Haas F1 as well.  I know they are in partnership with Ferrari for the power unit, but I also believe they are kind of like their B-team.

I'm interested in seeing if Honda can improve on their F1 engines, they've built dominant F1 engines before so it's not like they don't know how but with todays rules they can't scrap a design and come up with something new like they could've done years ago. I'm also interested in how Haas F1 works out too but I think too much hype is being made about it simply because it's a US team.
