Light at the end of the tunnel 1973 CB500f restore/refurbish
« on: November 23, 2015, 07:48:29 PM »
Hello all, I'm finally getting to the end of a project I've been working on for a year and a half or so. I've spent way too much moola on this, but I guess that's not the point - I've learned a ton and had a lot of fun. Besides, it's great to get an old bike back on the road. I just got the tank and side covers back from the paint shop and here's what it looks like, before and after (still need to get side cover emblems). Thanks to all those who gave advice and helped me get this baby running again.

Very cool.

I'm just starting on my 73 500, so this helps.

What exhaust did you go with?

I went with the MAC 4 into 1 (black). I'm wondering if I should have gotten chrome, but the black looks good too. If you order this, make sure they give you the 8 collars with it. I think I had to buy mine separate, which was a bummer having to wait when I wanted to put the exhaust on!

Thanks, and good luck with yours. Let me know if I can advise with anything else. What kind of shape is yours in?
