Good looking Block there Brian...  If you don't mind me asking, how many kidneys did they cost you... ;)

We originally had three Mick, unfortunately the other two have been offered up to the "Gods of Speed".
We paid the princely sum of one carton per block back in the eighties.  ;D

Jerry i think you got Powrolls there..i got 3/4 of a set like that..the other let go when the Yoshi rod turned into shrapnel..

That's what the ring boxes say. Check your's. The only info on them is the 58 on the inside skirt. Any input on them Frank?

As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Mine came in a blownup motor.. But I think Powroll always had pretty plain looking pistons, and RC being in the hub of speedparts mfg..  Ran mostly stuff from other piston makers...... Cant dig one out right now but remembered how plain they looked....Cant remember their ads showing their pistons but someone should remember.
 The logo on the box looks like the later logo..
 We know. Their pistons looked better than those most years they were in business. If they were RC, they would have to be real early, but I doubt the box is.

Look like MTC 73s Medyo.  10:1 compression?  Do you know the dome height offhand?  I'm guessing .23 or .33 inches.

 I'll have to look for the pics of mine, it's mostly MTC. Engle cam, Welded stroker, plain silver rods, I'll need to look up the bore and stroke but it added up to 1124cc.
  A lot of spare parts for it were sold at an estate sale but I was busy buying an important to me 750 and didn't notice the parts until they were gone. After I bought the 750 I was offered a look at the drag bike.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

They where cast by my then father inlaw. He had a small foundry that was originally started by his father.
A lovely old bloke, but his wife and daughter where absolute #$%*es.

He once showed me a picture of what would have been seven or eight Vincent's stacked in a pile outside, up against the back wall.
Apparently some of the "sidecar back markers" at the Sydney Showground Speedway would buy a second hand Lightning, Shadow or whatever, ride it around to his place, rip out the motor and throw the rest of the bike behind the shed.
He would cast a set of hi-comp pistons and machine the barrels.
They would bolt it back together, throw it in the boot of their car and it would be screaming around the Royal on saturday night.

He was a lovey old bloke that loved a yarn and a quiet beer.  He's long since past unfortunately.
