Man Cup final points totals for 2015
« on: November 29, 2015, 08:59:56 PM »
Well, they finally got around to posting the final points standings in all classes for the Man Cup dragracing series. Unfortunately I feel a little short of my goal to an SOHC finish in the top ten in points in Street ET. I did end up 14th so that puts me in the top 20. I had several dismal performances at the last 2 races that hurt my chances of getting in the top 10. Nevertheless, I've now reset my goal to win at least one of the Cup races in 2016 and now i'm shooting for a top 5 finish. Yeah, very lofty goals i know. But... if we don't dream, we'll never taste the fruits of our labor.

On a side note, I finished 12th in Crazy 8's on my old KZ 1000.
This is the first year since i started seriously racing the series that i didn't end up in the top 10 in at least one class. Oh well, I've got to tighten up in 2016 and it all begins in the shop over the off season.

It looks like Trey finished in 45th place and Bill right behind at 46th- thanks to those 2 day entry (not actual race) points. Sadly Bill's season was affected by his scooter accident at the first race so he really only competed in the last 2 races. Trey missed the last race all together without benefit of paying for the entry points. I think Wilbert finished in 116th position if i read that right.

Frank, congrats. As usual, they can't add! Add up my points, I got 138, that's good for 29th place, made my goal after getting hurt, I wanted Top 30. Next year I shoot for Top 10. Sure was fun, except for April incident.  Guess I get to call Jay again! Still learned a lot for next year, the more I learn, the more I realize I got a lot mo to learn!! K, Thanks to all that helped, you know who you are and I appreciate you! Bill
I just looked, I earned 94 points last 2 events, a big if, but double that, I'd have 188, would have been 17th!  Hope I get to run them all next year. One extra event will shake up the points, some won't be able to make all 5, hope we all can! C'mon,  Bill

FRANK: Good job, top 14 on a old tired 750cc running 10.42 ET. was a great feat with all those modern bikes with low ET'S and high MPH [ AND YOU GETTING THAT WIN TICKET ] my $500 is still good in 2016 unless some site owner moves it to HUMOR. Got the 34's and the DELTA ET + or - predictor from ALTALAB INSTRUMENT waiting for your beaconed call. Your PM sent a while back was dead on about the facts ....................

The Kawasaki contingent, being Jim French and me, ended up 13th in SuperComp.  If we had gone to Memphis, most likely would have been in the top 10.  It was fun!

It looks like there have been some points corrections for the Man Cup scores.

Our friend Billy Bing managed an impressive 29th in the overall standing.

And on top of that, it seems that he actually outscored Frankie(Dragracer) for the last half of the season(though very close), 94 points to Billy and 89 points for Frankie.

Nice racing Billy.....

Not bad I'd say for WELL over 100 entries in Street ET.

Yeap, Bill did good to say he never actually raced the sunday opener at Valdosta but got credit for his "show up" points. He wasn't physically able to race at the Memphis event and only collected "show up" points there also. No telling where he would have ended up if he were able to make rounds at those 2 races.

Unfortunately the last two races killed me. Rockingham was not good to me at all. In the finals at Valdosta I was still in on sunday when they pulled the plug. I had a perfect reaction time with a triple zero light that should have given me a bye run into the next round but the race ended. Hard to say how much further I would have gotten.

It was a decent season overall.

Frank it was overall for both of us. I think we both can do better. You had 10 more  points in the bag with the triple .000 for sure.  Next year we get 'em. POP's,  real glad to hear you're coming,  K. 2016 should be the best yet,  Bill
George, thanks for the info, our statistician! K. ;D After reading about the second 1/2....my new helmet on the way ,xxxxxxxxxlg! Yippee  Kai  Yeah!! ;) ;D

Bill,

Just keep yourself and the bike healthy all season, make all 5 events, and you should have a great year next year. ;)

We all know Frankie has the goods and experience for another stellar showing next year.

Throw in the depth of experience Pops would bring and there is a recipe for great success in Street ET.

Who knows what others will bring...

George

Forget ST/ET = 100 BIKES OR MORE and buy backs [ those are time runs for your SE CLASS ] !!!!  Run your collector bikes in SE CLASS and set your own " EFFORTS EQUALS RESULTS ."   Frank showed you that in 2015 and set his OWN RECORD, lets we forget that was the class DAVE SCHULTZ cut his teeth on long ago. The only class that you set the standard, the rules should be very complete and simple as who does the tear downs on SUNDAY night ...... you set the record = bring boxes and wrench's and a tech person that can say yea or nay. At IDBA the close number of racer in that class SE had those folks that keep it on the fair side for all to follow the rules.

Alright  Pops, it looks like you've exposed my plan. Hahaha. Can't fool an old drag racer. I'm sure at least one of the other members will be collaborating with an expert on how to dethrone me next season. Ahh, but I've still got a hold card up my sleeve. Ultimately I need to make rounds in S.E. and leave record setting alone. Rounds wins are what I want right now in S.E. I made a choice first round eliminations about whether I was going to try to lower the record I had just reset, or go for the win. I decided to go for resetting my own record and screwed up at the line. I neither l reset my record or won that round because I changed my launch procedure in an attempt to lower the 60' to net a lower ET. It resulted in a freakin red light. Focus, focus, focus.

See you in the lanes next year sir.

FRANK in the 10's :  I the old dayz of IDBA the SE CLASS was a group of die hard racers that all came to win, they all pitted in the same location [ like a family gathering ] but at that line " DEAD ON THEIR NUMBERS " were their only goals for points and those win tickets. Those chain saw sounds [ 2 cyl. many in SE ] were great music sounds to the ears of the KZ and GS at the line. Here at my track a fellow racer rides " that sound " at 8.90 ET  with many FAST by GAST parts in his motor, car tire, bars, w/ two step !!!!!  Truly a class that you race yourself, they did have a breakout factor but I gave my IDBA TECH SE RULE BOOK to BAKER , he will be the most know the rules guy at that event w/many years racing in that class.

Pops, you should have been at Valdosta last month. While we have attempted to get more CB750's or SOHC4's out there in general, parked next to our area were about 15 Widow Makers. Beautifully prepared and ready. They were in serious race mode with some 8's. Sounded great when they fired up those bumble bee in tin cans.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
