CB500 Burning oil
« on: June 01, 2005, 08:07:22 PM »
Hey guys I just bought a CB 500 1973 from a guy who fequents this site. He told me it was burning alittle oil so I was wondering what thing I can do to correct this problem?  Because i dont have a manual to read what to do.  Any advice will help thanks.

PS, MAtt it runs good except for the burning oil factor, hahah.

As long as you don't get clouds of blue smoke, I'd leave it alone.

My '72 500 smokes a bit when cold and the exhausts (all 4) are oily - but no blue smoke and very little topping-up required between oil changes.

If yours is the same. just ride it (and keep an eye on it!)
