cylinder stud
«

Had the cylinder head and was torqueing down the bolts and snap. I have about 2" left of the stud. Is welding a bolt on and heat the best option to get it out. I also now need a cylinder stud if someone out there has one for me. Thanks

Plenty of factory studs floating around for you but you gotta tell us which engine.
Weld on a nut and have a go.
How much torque?

Thanks for the reply. Front left #12 in the torque sequence. Honda CB550. Torqued to 15lbs, last one and it snapped.

15 is not excessive. Was it twisting?!
Can't help with the smaller engines, sorry.

No twisting. I did the first 11 and then snapped the last one.

Thanks. I did torque the nut in stages. This is my first build of a bike this size so I have been reading up on it quite a bit. I have rebuilt quite a few single cylinder bikes. Having a blast with this bike and I can,t wait to hear it run.
