NEW 1974 CB450 OWNER - I NEED PARTS/HELP& DIRECTION !
« on: November 01, 2006, 11:45:22 AM »
yO,

This Friday I am going to pick up my next project bike, which is a 1974 Honda CB450 twin.
Plans call for a very minimal vintage racer, with bright paint, tall wheels , etc..

Anyone else have one of these things running around ?
Are their certain websites that cater to this CB model ?

As usuall , Any and All help is appreciated....

Hey Teal, you must have forgotten that (when you were trying to decide what to get), I told you to check out cb450dohc.com and see what they have. There's another one with msn but, I don't remember exactly what that one is. Seems like cb450dohc.com has links to check out, I haven't dug too deep into it yet. And by the way, I do have some "project jobs". None are running at the present. I've got a 74' CL450K6, 2-74' CB450K7s (one should be able to get going as soon as I can clean the carbs, go through and check the electrics, along with putting a battery in it. Ignition switch was missing but, I got one off of ebay. Also have a 70' model along with some additional parts. I plan on keeping mine so far. LOL.

BILL440 --->

That scoot is slick as hell !
Where would you point me to get a cafe seat for my ride ?
I am keeping the stock tank (cause it's so nice) , but I def, want a cafe seat like in the pic above.
Would like to get one that kept the original seat swing mounts and keylock...

Anyone ??

It is pretty tough looking, isn't it. That's similar to the look I'd like to get out of a 450 myself. As far as the seat goes, the first place I could think of to find one would be

                                    http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/

Look under Vintage and then just browse around. You'll see some pretty cool stuff but, they're kinda pricey for me though. I know there are other places, I just can't think of them right now. Maybe someone else will chime in here, if I can't come up with some more places.

Both places have kick-ass seats - but they are also kick ass $$$ , and they dont even come with the pad !
Their has to be some place that makes a complete bolt-on seat for these bikes, eh ?  :-\

Ahemm........ Please look again. Most of our seats are available either unupholstered or upholstered in one of two different styles. The first couple pages of our seat gallery explains this.
