Speaking generally Dave, all things being equal, this isn't about the riders, its about the bikes,  122HP, 11.7 second quarter mile and monster torque kills a 40 odd HP {if that} and 14.7 second 550, no if or buts... ;D

Ok mate, I am letting this go. So far no one has been able to prove this in real life to me at least.

At the end of the day I laugh at anyone spending the money for one of these bikes when there are faster better bikes for less. I am not nor will I ever be a fan of the V-rod and so far none beat me across the intersection. Call BS if you want I am only going by what I know. I am fine with you thinking its BS if need be. I think we hi-jacked this tread enough. :)

I should also point out I do feel you are one of the go to people here not only for SOHC but most bike matters. So I bow in your general direction.

One last thing.  The OP mentioned a raging ape.  I cannot figure out if this is good or bad.  I guess it depends on whether or not the ape is on your side.

Why dont you just run your bike at Great lakes Dragway..?
Then you can post your 60 foot times, and we can easily compare it to any other bikes..

Nope for 2 reasons. 1 - I just don't care any more and 2 - The track is closed for the season and does not open until end of May next year and by then I really won't care even more. :)

Anyone have a drawing showing exactly which parts are the "plunger bits"? 
Since I'm working on this 500 and literally have the carb parts laid out right now, I might as well replace some of those plunger bits.

Hell, I may even name this one "Raging Ape" and paint that on the side of the tank!  8)

the key thing about the plunger bits is you have to de-poop them for best results.
