Thanks Mike! I was making a decent amount of money driving so it is good to have the opportunity back.
Japi who's bike this is, is a seasoned racer in many different sports but after the dyno he was a bit on the serious side  ;D
He raced a bone stock (unless you count bolt on silencers and heated grips) unlowered early model Busa back in 2014 with a best ET of 10.04 and was pissed he couldn't make it in to the 9's with it.
170hp with stock wheelbase GS is a bit of a challenge but I'm sure he will make it to the sub 10 club now.
He has done it before on a Top Gas Harley but it was almost 30 years ago.
I'll test the bike first and see how it works.
I haven't launched a bike down the track in 9 years so it's good to have a go and see if I still got it.

Gonna use it for two purposes, when working on bikes and also for lifting them on a storage shelf for the winter.

Can your Lift lock into different preset positions without settling because of gravity?

It's an old hydraulic industrial lift so it can be set to any height between low (about 10 inches) and high positions.

I see; will the lift sort of lose pressure over a few days and settle-lower after sitting in that one position? I thought it might help to have a type of steel bar with a few different(possibly 7?)preset positions for the raised lift to hold it's place.

I'm doing a type of comparison with my old 1990's Western Handy lift(made here in Iowa,USA)which I have since sold.
The Western Handy lift has a large air cylinder which will take up to 100psi maximum to lift it,although the air cylinder will settle-lower(if disconnected from the air)if it sits with a motorcycle on it in the upright position,if you don't use the preset bar to lock the lift in one of a number of height positions.
I imagine the Industrial lift you have doesn't need this type of arrangement considering the hydraulic cylinder can possibly hold it's position for a bit?
I Like that industrial lift you have.  8)

This one is made right here in Finland, Turenki back in 1982 and the company still exists  ;D
I was told by the lovely lady who arranged me to have the lift, that it does come down over night if you leave a lot of weight on it and there is no mechanical way to lock it but I don't mind.

It came to me from a clothing factory, they used it to lift big rolls of cloth to a machine that did something, something and something but it had broken down and was outdated so it was scrapped and they didn't need the lift anymore.

I should ask the manufacturer how much it can lift. There's no info left on it.

You are putting that lift to work  :) and may discover the limit eventually.
