name the bolt
« on: November 17, 2015, 02:04:42 PM »
Time to play name the bolt!

I'm starting to think that I should go through this bike and cheque the torque on every single bolt. Fun winter project I guess.
Something has rattled itself loose from the housing behind the shifter, does anyone know what size of bolt I should replace it with?

I wish I could describe it better, but the picture should capture my culprit.

Picked up a hex set from 4 into 1.  http://4into1.com/stainless-steel-allen-bolt-set-honda-cb550k-1977-1978/
They make great replacements, and having a JIS impact screwdriver helped to get out some of the stripped screws.

I've got a hell of a lot of allen bolts left over, and all site tells me is that they go to the cylinder head cover, generator cover, left cover, points cover and right cover.  I've been using the microfiches from the honda site to try to figure out where they go, but is there a more definitive list of where these go somewhere?
