Finally got one - grab bar
« on: December 12, 2015, 12:48:40 PM »
There are all kinds of engines, rims, body panels, you name it, available from junk yards and guys parting out.  What I have consistently had problems locating are grab bars.  I have been hunting around for months looking for the grab bar on my '79 - just found one and bought it, but I continue to be surprised by how difficult **certain** parts are to locate.  Grab bars seem to be one of them.  (Yeah yeah I know e-bay has tons of bars - just not MY grab bar dangit! :P)

Guess I'm just wondering if there are certain parts that get destroyed or otherwise discarded by the people who do customizing which makes it that much harder to restore years and years down the road.  or maybe the manufacturers just didn't make many of them for replacements)

I have a bar for a 77 750K, I'd trade it for one to fit a 79 wing. L0L! And yes I tried it, no go.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Turn signals, tool kit, owners manuals, and handlebars are a few things that seem to fall off and get lost.
