Topic: Non stock carb boots

I am ditching the standard route for more power of getting CR's and am going with a set of DCOE 40's.  I'm pretty sure the standard boots will not fit the DCOE's, so what has anyone used for carbs that are not a direct fit on the 750?  I've thought about turbo piping but not sure how flexible it will be for this application.

This is not quite the same, but I put 36mm Mikuni flat slides on my 86 750 GIXXER.  I was told that they would fit.  They did fit, but it was a major effort for them to pop on.  I don't recall the size different. but I think maybe 1 to 2 mm.  Lube carbs, heat the boots(new I hope) and some of my favorite cuss words and with the bike tied down.  I would try just one carb and one boot to see if it could be forced on.

If you are using an RC type manifold, I believe you can use stock boots. If using an MPD manifold, member 754 makes some nice straight hoses from silicone tubing. I'm using a set now, and am quite happy with them.

I am making my own manifold for this build. Stock boots may be an option but with some force to get them on.

 I dry fitted a set of webers on a 750 head once, I flipped them backwards and used 1-4, 2-3 in the opposite places. Not sure the brand of intake.
