i bought one of these about 10 years ago , it worked very well with the light racing bikes i was moving
never tried it with a goldwing though

Clever idea but what I foresee happening if I were to put my Goldwing on it is that if I wasn't prepared for it I might get shot in the air or tossed ten feet behind the trailer the moment I pulled the pin to lower the bike.  :o

This looks to be rated for goldwings....haven't really read up on it though.  I love the fact that it folds up for storage.  But $2000 is a lot of money for something that I wouldn't use much  :o

Ha ha, no mate, not quite. Back in the 80's when I had my first Sportster, I was chatting about bikes to a cop, and I showed him the big "U" lock I'd just bought as I didn't have a garage to lock it in.

He explained to me that the standard scenario was that one of the clubs "Old Ladies" would ring the cops and say that a motorcycle (always a Harley) registration number xyz123 had just clipped her car and taken off. The cops would then give her the name and address of the registered owner.

The boys would then drive their truck with the crane around to the registered owners house, and relieve him of his hawg.......... ;D

That one is the design I wanted to get, as you don't have to unhook it from the tow vehicle. It is simpler, more "elegant".

The only one I found that was actually produced and not a "vaporware" type offering comes from Baxley:

Scroll down to the "cruiser trailer". It will haul a GoldWing. Pricey at $3K.

Club in Detroit don't need no stinkin' crane...They just pick the bike up by hand..Watched 3 club members pick up a Sportster and slide it in the back of a pickup.

When I rode ElCheapoGoldwingo to Sturgis this year I saw trailers with 50-60K worth of bikes that I wouldn't haul a lawn tractor on. Usually behind a 150K + motorhome. Tiny tires and zig zagging all over, rotten wood decks. Farm store straps, Wow. I tried to not follow them whenever possible.

Knowing them, they would be willing to try...but it's a long swim there and back. ::)
