Yep, I'd take one lighter like Franks, my RC is lighter than the one George sent me....but not by much!  4.66 with all the starter clutch pieces in place!

BILL: How thick is that stroker plate on that COBRA ???? If that motor is kick start [ total loss ] then why a stator on the end of the crank,  their must be many stators for KZ motors as I gave RICK'S a box full of stators for KZ MOTORS. Why the stock carbs or are they the bored out better than 29's carbs that GEORGE BUILDS  ???? When you run those flat slides remember what I told you about removing the rod = that bog [extra squirt ] with it on can give you a shock off the line. I got a set of clean 29's with the right stacks and a box of main jets from K&L that you can change in seconds. You 29's need a cleaning they looked rather ruff at the track when KYLE tried to get them to work with 120 main jets.

Morning POP's.  No stroker plate or motor ...yet! I'm running the RS34'S. Yes I remember about the acc. rod,  thanks.  Yes, the 29's  they came off a shelf after sitting....not good! I got some shorter stacks, some 22.5 pilots and more mains. They'll be ready. On the rotor, you got to have something hold the starter clutch. No charging system on mine, it's total loss.

I cut off and turned down rotor leaving only what I needed for the starter gear clutch.   Running these on two 72mm  12.5:1 motors and having no problem with the stock starters.

Thanks all. The 24 volts took its toll on the eBay 1100F starter motor!  After working some 10-15 times, it all of sudden went click. Turned out motor was still getting power, just wouldn't spin. So I thought why beat the hell out of a starter system if not nessecary. So I went 12v. Seems to work just fine, my leg loves it! Dyno next! Calling in the am for next week appointment!  Yippee Kai Yeah,   Bill

So am I to understand that you used the same starter, but just used 12vilts, it one battery?? It did you put another starter on the bike with 12 volt wiring only??

Used a standard CB750 SOHC starter, 12v standard wiring,  works great! A riddle for you.....off/on/on works a hell of a lot better than off/off/off! SMH, speechless! Bill

It's a drag bike= starter and stator weight on end of crank, use that leg to kick start, must have gave RICK'S a box full of KZ starters too !!!! KZ folks kick start or use a start cart for a PRO-BIKE. Most 2 cycle. SEL bikes were kick started then they pull off the foot crank and run 8.20's.
I thought you said golden rods on your stroker crank ? Do you have the that fixture hold down plate for boring a 1062 block, my son in law made many for the 1000 KZ guys to get the true holes.

Yes to Golden Rods std length were on it when I got it. No fixture here, but my boring usally handled by Rick Stetson through Mike Rieck. I'm sure I can kick it,  but we (me and my leg) like the button!  Lol. Nothings set in stone yet, still gotta fine tune and go to dyno this week hopefully, thanks for the input, Bill

Bill,

What's your best guess on the horsepower of this engine on the "crack fuel" based on what you got from the smaller engine?? I think you were over 100hp before??

Frank, good question,  yes we were at 101.24 with the 915cc little rocket!  And it's about to be ready again, slightly modified version. But let's compare the two, I'll give you what I think/ hope for, anyone else feel free to chime in.
915cc                           1062cc
Crank, balanced,         Crank,  balanced, APE and lightened by
A little weight off it.     RC or someone good
Rods Falicon.                Rods Carrillo's
Primary chains OEM.   Primary chains Germany /Thomas from Rickey Racer
Cam chain RC.               Cam chain CycleX Cryo (love it!)
Cam chain tensioner     Cam chain tensioner
OEM.                                 Yoshimura replica on ebay (kmb69 assembler)
Pistons 915cc CycleX.   Pistons 1062 73mm RC Engineering
Wiseco kit ltwt. 10.5 to 1 Tapered lightweight pins 12.5 to 1
Tapered pins w/clips.      w/buttons
Cylinder head Stage IV   Cylinder head RC ported 33.5 stainless 7mm stems
Mike Rieck 34mm intakes
5 or 5.5mm stems etc
Cam RC327.                         Cam RC327
Carbs George Schuld.        Carbs RS34'S
Bored out stockers.             Flat slides
Ignition DynaS 3ohm.          DynaS 3 ohm.
Clutch Barnett x plate.        Clutch RC x plate, copper coated steels
Pipe 4-1 Sidewinder.            Pipe 4-1 Sidewinder
Fuel VP MR12.                      Fuel  VP MR12.
H/P 101.24.                           H/P  ???.??
OK , my guess is 101.24 plus 8.76 for bore size, 4 for compression, 2 for carbs, 2 for me Lol, equals 118.xx rwhp!
Might be lucky to hit 110, but I do think more than that! What's your number?  Bill

Bill, I think 118 is reasonable. Only unknown I see is the head. 150cc and 34's should make a difference. The 12.5:1 may make the most difference. What is the weight difference between the Falicons and the Carrillos? Brian will get you there.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

If it was a Kaw give a guess. I've no clue on the horsepower of the Honda engines. If you get 118, that's a great power to weight ratio. The track dyno should give you some low ET's. I assume you'll be testing at Commerce this weekend?

I look forward to the results of the dyno visit.  I'm curious to see whether the vintage RC ported 33.5/28 head will effectively keep up with your engine's airflow needs(compared to a more contemporary major porting job or a heavily ported F head).  That's a big motor with big compression.  Good luck... ;)

My vintage stuff has a LOT in common with your vintage stuff, so I am interested for sure.

George
