CB Bike & Parts Haul
« on: December 20, 2015, 02:16:05 PM »
So a friend calls me up sunday morning and mentions that he's going out to possibly buy a couple of bikes from a guy who has a bunch of bikes and parts for sale. I ask how many does he have total and he says maybe 10 or so bikes but in various states of rebuild. Some are just frames some rollers that are painted/powder coated chromed etc. and a lot of parts.

I'm in, you take the two you want and I'll take the rest and we buy the whole lot.

It was raining when I got home so don't have good pics of the bikes yet but I ended up with: (2) CB750's, (3) CB550's, (2) CB400F's and a crazy amount of parts.

Quite a haul.  If the PO was the one responsible for that orange frame with black engine and gold points cover, then it's probably a good thing he never finished the restorations.
That would have a FUGLY bike.

I'm looking for a center stand for a CB550K1. I think I see part of one in a corner of one of your images. If you indeed have one, PM me or let me know here.

Congrats on scoring your pirate treasure!

Gotta agree..........nice haul!! My questions are.....1. What's the plan?....build bikes, sell parts, a bit of both? You gotta realize that when you make a post like this....people are gonna drool!! I can only hope to come across a stash like this in my lifetime.

Love the replys you guys got me laughing.

I'm not a parts seller as it seems when I've done that in the past the next year I need that part and end paying more than I sold it for. But I would for sure want to help complete a build if I can. Right now it's early as I really need to sit down and go over what parts I'm gonna need to get the bikes back on the road.

When I get to that point I'll post something up.

Obviously you have room to store it, and the seller got tired of paying to store it..
I am in the same boat right now.
May be interested in that spun aluminum oil tank , in a couple months..

Yea he had it both at his house and at a storage room. He was really happy to get it out and have the space for other things.

The '73 750 is a hard tail and that Moon Eyes tank goes with that one....... though if I come across an old Triumph before I get to it I might have to weld it to that one.  8)

No pic of the hard tail yet. It was raining when I got home and just crammed everything in and called it a day.

The unit was maybe a 7x14 and he had other stuff in there. He owned the storage lot by the way. lol Didn't want to post this out in public but this guy wasn't hurting to let these bikes/parts go and he spent a lot of money on them. As I was looking at all the top shelf parts I thought whoa big time money pit he had going.
