Tools that aren't so common but anyone that is wrenching on their bike would need to use eventually such as carb syncs, compression tester, spark plug gapper etc

For example: I've got Cam-lock straps and Timing light so far

Spare bike to ride while the other is being worked on.

It won't fit in a stocking, though.

Aux gas tank
Tap and Die set

+1 on both of these. My full metric tap and die set have been invaluable. You never realize how much you need an aux tank until that first time you tank falls off the bike and dents because you propped it up while you were working on the engine. My gas "IV" make tuning so much easier.

I use the plug wrench that came with my original tool kit and it's still the best for changing spark plugs because there is little room in the 550 cases

Probably at the end of your list but if you have the space and money purchase a lift. I've messed with bikes for awhile and just recently bought a lift. I should have bought one years ago!

Yeah, me too.  And actually a good suggestion.  Beats throwing the tools on the ground as hard as can . . . having them come back up off the concrete and take a fairly decent bite out of your arm and/or fingers.  Not that I'd know anything about that . . .

;D ;D ;D HA!.....you too? I've probably done that a time or 5 over the years......not so much nowadays!! Done the old punch the wall too! That drywall can be expensive to fix and if you don't aim right and hit a stud.....well you can imagine!! Don't have to do it too many times before you learn better......

Don,
You happen to have a link to the set you bought?  I've been looking at a few sets to get for Stella but if you already have a set you like, I'll just buy a set of those.

Ah sorry for the late response, my family ended up pooling together and got me a m-unit which was on the very top of the list as a "if you really really want" item.

Unfortunately I also got a minor low side on my main bike (damn rain  :'() so any work on the cb is gonna have to wait

Thanks for all the suggestions definitely gonna add them to a running wish list so things are so last minute

Fooey, sorry to hear about the low side, I tend to go high side myself, usually right after a tank slapper on uneven pavement.
