I have a duffel full of suspicion about a $185 set of "high peformance" shocks, especially EMGO. But are they in fact any good?

where are you seeing these?...thinkin they usually sell for about $85...and for that kind of money, they are just ok.  I bought a pair for $25 at a swap meet and used them for a short time.  I found them slightly better than typical 70's era Honda stock shocks.

+1 I'd pass on Emgo, and look into Hagon's for that kind of money.

not even a good looking placeholder , have a look at ikon have had suprisingly good results with them
not used the yss shocks yossef , they seem too cheap to be any good ......... unless you know better !

rene used yss on his son's race bike and they sounded happy. they do seem to have a few quality levels though.

would skip the bravo for sure....

i had old restored konis in my racer, they are indeed fine. only problem is that being a bit old design, they mount the damper part on the bottom, so the first few mm of travel, piston can be swimming in froth instead of clean fluid. more modern designs of pressurized ones (i am talking about non bladder/reservoir type) have the damper on bottom so piston spends more time in pure fluid = more control. that applies of course not just to yss.

I have the "Z" version TG, only complaint was the initial springs they supplied to me were too stiff for street use.  Likely would have worked great on the track.

TT, how much they go for on your side of the pond?

I got them in late 2010 TG, they were under $500 Cdn for the pair (including shipping / duty / taxes).  However the Canadian $ was strong then, today I'd have to add about 30%.   Ikon's would have been less but were on long back-order, and the Hagon's that were available then could not be re-built.
