Did you buy caps with the coils also? I'm in the market if you don't need them. I'm just to lazy(CHEAP) to stop milking it along!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Update!

Everyone thinks Chuck Norris is bad, but Chuck Norris has not meet Lucky either.  Lucky will round house kick Chuck back to 1969 and pop a wheel with the 1st sandcast while shotgunning a PBR!

Update is.....thanks to ogsmakdade!!!!!!!! We got the sum a #$%* running off some ether!

We figured out that the interior of the tank is a bit gunked up and the petcock was dunzito so it wasn't getting  any fuel.

Just got the new petcock in the mail, so hoping to install that soon and see what difference it makes. The interior of the tank looks like years of Ethanol have broken down the liner..so thinking of going through that #$%*ty process of removing and starting fresh.

All I care about at this point is that I know it'll run and I've been on cloud 9 since! Thanks again Darryl!

Not sure. I'm pretty sure its the old kreem but I could be wrong. PO put it on and not sure how old it is. Looks reddish and the gas was red coming out of it.

It's squeezed in between the cars and they're jammed up in the garage for this storm or I'd look. Might try and work on it later tonight

I've had nothing but troubles with redkote.   They were tough to fight against back in the day  but easy to pick off when they came at you in a straight line ::)   Snow level is approaching 2 feet here >:(

So now that we're talking about it....I know there's a million different ways to do it. After many of days of research, so far my understanding of my options are:

- Screws or aquarium gravel with MEK, Acetone or other harsh chemical
- MEK, Acetone or said harsh chemical alone..
- The above, and then put it in your dryer? Not even close to an option for me...
- Radiator shop and they'll burn and pressure wash
- burn it yourself...not sure I wanna try that on my grill or firepit...
- Cut in half and have it welded after ripping it all out
- Leave it the hell alone and just get it running and ride it
- Chuck it and get a new one (or sell to someone that wants to work on it)

What the hell do you guys think is the best option and what have you done? I plan on pulling the carbs and soaking in my ultrasonic cleaner, so I want to do SOME thing to the tank. I'd rather do it right the first time and get that #$%* outta there and start fresh. I'm also considering just leaving it alone after I do remove it, as long as I can take care of any rust that may be in there (which doesnt seem to be the case). Thanks guys.

If you can find a good radiator shop that still does motorcycle tanks that'd be the way i'd go. The lining could be there to cover up pin holes though...Larry

Liner definitely peeling away.

We can braze any pinholes, no biggie

And you're welcome buddy, was fun almost burning down your garage
