Original Japanese market vin plate
« on: December 26, 2015, 08:46:25 PM »
Hi all, I posted a question about my bike as to whether it was a Japanese market direct import, possibly by a serviceman in Canada, and aim satisfied that I do indeed have a Jap market bike, so now the question is does anyone know if the is a company printing replacement VIN plates in Japanese. I see there is a UK company doing em in Engrish, but Japanese may be more of a stretch. Any help appreciated....

The JDM bikes did not come with the VIN plate.
71 or thereabouts 750 K1 - this one should have been put down

It sure sounds like a JDM... I have a 1970 JDM.  Your bike should have a red speed sensor light between the tach and speedo it should also have a small gearbox on the back of the speedo that runs the sensor.  The foot pegs will be fixed not having a pivot joint and the rear tail light will be a bit smaller with orange sides instead of being all red.  I would love to see some pictures.  Sounds like you may have a pretty rare machine, congrats!!!!

That makes sense as I couldnt see where the little rivets had gone into the headstock, it has the speed sensor light and fixed pegs.
Its in very decent shape although one side cover is missing and water has rusted one headlight bracket from the inside out.
Pipes are very good 300 series, no baffles. Im told the engine is 836 but I was also given a complete 750 engine with a close engine number so I can use either one.
Ive ordered a set of jap market decals fromYamiya and will start ordering various bits from local suppliers to get it roadworthy for spring..
Thanks for the replies
