Carb rebuild
« on: December 26, 2015, 12:40:26 AM »
Hello my friends!

Im doing my first CB 500 K1 carb rebuild and just want to ask about the o-rings.
Is it alright the install the new ones "dry" , no motoroil on them???

Also i need to know about the big o-ring that goes to the float bowl (keyster carb kit).
Original it is a gasket but with this kit it is a o-ring.
I reed somewhere that its a good idea to use some white lithium grease to make it stay
in place while assemble the float bowl, or else it will just pop out of its place all the time.
Is white lithium grease the best to use in this case?

Thanks a lot for youre time!

Oil is ok on o-rings. Helps things go together easier. A small amount of grease to hold o-rings in place during assembly is ok. Rubber vs. paper, I'd go with the rubber.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
