K1 seat catch
« on: December 26, 2015, 01:34:47 PM »
Hi guys.
I need a seat catch for my K1: see photo of K1

Can anyone confirm that there are not differences on this item from K0 to k1?
At cmsnl.com it's available only for K0... but as far as I know K0 and k1 seat catch are the same.
This is confirmed also here

but before to buy I want to be sure 100%

For what it's worth, I have a K1 seat on my 72. I used that latch and fits perfectly.

It's two stages. You pull on the u shaped piece and that unlatches the seat. See those 2 hooks on the seat, the front one moves. You have to press that forward to lift seat up. Just like a car hood, pull the cable that pops good, then unlatch with a hook by the grille. (Makes sense I hope)

The K1 uses a single plunger and the mechanism shown in the first pic. I highly doubt Honda changed that part between the K0 and the K1, as they were busy revising the carbs, the styling, the clocks, the colors etc. etc. as well as thinking about how to make enough of them fast enough. Only with the K2 did they have enough time to muck about with double plunger seat locking mechanisms  ;D
71 or thereabouts 750 K1 - this one should have been put down
